Republicans offered several plans for health insurance that were all turned down by Democrats. Obamacare robs Medicare of $700 Billion + to help pay for it and it is still projected to run a trillion dollar deficit this year. Who can afford that? You see, it won’t matter one bit if every single person in the country has health insurance if the country goes over the cliff with everybody in it. And Republicans don’t want to get rid of Planned Parenthood but government funding for it since it helping to murder the unborn (abortion).

tBotH: Some answers to your questions: 1) Who can afford a trillion dollar deficit? The rich can afford it. Since the Reagan Revolution the wealthy have been growing wealthier, the poor, poorer. By one estimate, the wealthiest 1% of Americans control 43% of America’s wealth; surely the rich can find the money in their pocketbooks to finance the deficit and national healthcare insurance. 2) Planned Parenthood and doctors who perform abortions have been the subject of attacks from those who do not believe in abortion for decades; these attacks have included the murder of an abortion doctor. There can be reasoned debate about the status of an embryo or fetus. Everyone agrees, on the other hand, that the murder of an adult male is murder. 3) The republican “health plans,” such as Mr. Ryan’s proposal to replace Medicare with vouchers, are a sham. The idea that most people will take the time to sort through needlessly complicated paperwork is ridiculous; asking people, especially older people, to sort through competing medical plans presented in tiny print is a cruel joke. Health care is not an entitlement–it is a right!! What we deserve is not a mass of paperwork that will only result in many people failing to register for a plan (and thus remaining without insurance), but the arrival of a card in the mail that the recipient can present to a doctor to cover the costs of an annual physical, a heart attack, end-stage cancer, or a high fever in an infant.

I am not seeking “a debate” here, because there can be no debate about the inherent contradiction in the Republican positions that abortion is tantamount to murder and that the treatment of seriously ill children and adults is a privilege, not a right. Either life is sacred or it isn’t. Either it deserves to be protected in the emergency room or it doesn’t. And while there can be intelligent debate about the ontological status of the unborn, there can be no debate that those who have been born are human.

That is how I see this issue. Please do not contact me again concerning it.
