tell me… (3rd poem)

File:Iapetus as seen by the Cassini probe - 20071008.jpg

*

the world is broken

********************(but you knew that)

the years, minutes only, the pain of grief,

**the fear of loss abducting the moment

*

take this pain from me,

you say, give me back my life

beautiful, tell me…

*

yes, i knew it was love,

knew the pain didn’t matter,

all the things we’d lost: we can’t be perfect

not even right, we need someone

to rage at. to acknowledge silent tears.

*

do you know where

**the moon will rise?

someone does, the keeper of

clocks–

********but, don’t you know? the moon

****spattered and untimely

***is risen.

I love it – the rhythm and the mood – perfect!
