It has come to my attention that that Gilgamesh book that I once promised myself to delve inside has come back to haunt me, not only in the form of this post but in a recent conversation with someone I met recently.

And since I am great believer in non-coincidences, I am stopping by to comment, but especially to say thanks to your wholly unsuspecting self.

Incidentally, can’t tell you how satisfying I find that ‘cowabunga’ word is to articulate.
    Long time, no hear. 🙂

pij: there’s something disorienting about reading Gilgamesh: the sheer age of a story with roots in prehistory leaves people struggling to image what it was like to live when there were only a handful of walled cities in the world and a mysterious horizon stretching out in all directions. it took great courage then to experience the world (it still does today, but maybe a different kind of courage).

all i can say is that it is worth finding the strength to explore. thanks for your thoughtful note. RT
